When you’re positioning hips for deepest penetration make your arms don’t reach around too much.

Yea to be honest these "form" videos are overrated. You get better at running by running. Just put your foot in front of the other lolz

What do you guys/gals do when your knee gets very painful from jogging? I am 3 weeks into trying to get into jogging and my left knee kills me and is terrible when walking up stairs. The jogging has caused this. Any tricks to help this stop, makes the next day training miserable to suffer thru.

I don’t think it’s possible to land on your toes, and how can you land on the middle of your foot? There’s an arch there. And… if your form is so great, why are you both wearing those orthotics on your feet?

Not only is it better form to lean forward a little while running but it looks much cooler. The straight up posture while running looks incredibly dorky.

for what i need 8 x 400 meters? to run 10 km in 40 minutes? are you joking? you dont need intervals training to run 10 km in 40 minutes

I really believe that running form just evolves from running mindfully for a lifetime. Gunder Hägg (15 world records) once said that "I never tried to alter my running stride. I let my daily training give me the stride that was optimal for my body. I was also convinced that letting all muscles that dont directly contribute to the running be as relaxed as possible to save energy".

this technique hurts my knees, ankles, hips. the first one is more comfortable for me. I think everybody's skeletal mechanics is a little different for what's comfortable.

Thanks for this insightful video. I've been recording my runs lately using a smart watch and I never even knew that vertical oscillation was something to be aware of. Although I've always thought that running should feel more like gliding than bouncing up and down, I now see that I still have more to learn. Thanks for the tips!

For new runners who have the tendency to overthink- 1) Just focus on keeping your neck and shoulders relaxed. 2) ONLY run at a slow easy pace you can talk comfortably for atleast 3 months. Totally okay to walk when you start breathing hard. That easy pace will keep you injury free and make your recovery super fast. If you're at a decent fitness level, you can even run daily. With that, 1) You won't treat your next run as voluntary torture.. 2) Your probability to quit due to burnout and injuries will decrease massively. 3) Most Importantly, you can run more often and longer every week. And the more time you spend running, the faster your body will figure out and adapt to the right form for your specific body. If you have access to a coach who can give you tailored advice, then go for that. Else general advice on something as personal as your running form can often be very misleading. Especially when you have little to no firsthand experience with running consistently. Once you're slightly familiar with running, then you can actually benefit from general advice on the internet. As at that point, you already know a little about listenning to your own body and can pick out what works for you and test things out safely. Well, atleast that's been my experience as an overthinker myself 😂

I’m almost 77. I can’t get much of a kick, but I strike properly. I run slowly but for a long time. Doing that I can train for a ten k. After running every other day for a couple of months I can run a ten k.

I’m going to be honest, the biggest tip that helped me here was to understand the point of deepest penetration. I was always riding the saddle, so now, as I run, I literally think of the point of deepest penetration it helps me so much with my hips and running form. lol~

As a guy who did cross country & track I gotta say it's so worth it to get the technique down. Good luck to everyone I'm working my way back too. I describe it as one day u feel so good running like you are falling forward at the same pace your running and ur rhythm is so precise it feels like your feet are smooth wheels then your body temp heats up and stabilizes with your breathing and got darn it your a real runner lol 😆. Gl everyone!

I am 57, how many runs should I do. At my age, I need to focus on recovery. I do one long run a week and 2 shorter runs. To increase my endurance, I jump on my bicycle, as I think my body won't recover from a 4th run in a week. What do you think?
